The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for 7 counties . Coconino County (lower elevations of the Grand Canyon) will be affected through July 1. Graham, Greenlee, Pima, Pinal, and Gila Counties will be affected through June 30. Maricopa County will be affected June 29-July 1. Daytime highs up to 116°F are expected. One of Arizona’s most important resources are the children that live and play in our state. Over 1.1 million children ages 5 to 18 attend publicly-funded schools for an average of 180 days every year.
